DONATIONS in aid of THE DAN ELEY FOUNDATION
The Dan Eley Foundation was founded in 2012, 18 months after Dan had a life-changing accident in the Amazon Jungle, whilst working as a volunteer for street children. Dan spent a year in hospital, fighting for his life and facing up to the enormous emotional and physical challenges of being so severely paralysed. He was inspired during this time by others who have overcome adversity and who went on to achieve great things in life. This inspired Dan to pursue his aspiration of starting a skills training charity for youngsters living in poverty and precarious circumstances. The Dan Eley Foundation is the realisation of that venture.
Now a quadriplegic, Dan has continued his work to give opportunities and challenges to youngsters who, through no fault of their own, live in unfortunate circumstances and are unable to access the opportunities and challenges that would help them to thrive. With international work now serviced through local charities, the foundation is focussing their efforts on helping struggling youngsters in the Waverley area.
Dan attended Frensham Heights School and was one of Edwin Rolles’ pupils. Edwin and son, Sam, direct and conduct Rowledge Community Choir who hold fund-raising concerts for charities and are delighted to be supporting The Dan Eley Foundation once again.
Dan and the Foundation heartily thank you for supporting them by attending the concert – and any other way you feel you might be able to help – please see the website for more inspiring information (www.daneleyfoundation.org)
Donations to the charity can be made online at their Justgiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/daneley-foundation
